In the distant ninth century, Kaldi, a shepherd in Ethiopia, stumbled upon the remarkable discovery that his goats became unusually excited after consuming a bright red fruit. This curious finding marked the beginning of the legendary story of coffee.
Ethiopia, as the birthplace of coffee, boasts a coffee-growing history that dates back to ancient times. According to legend, the first coffee cultivation originated in the Harar region of the country, which not only nurtures a rich variety of coffee but is also renowned as the gene pool of coffee. In the Gafa Forest within Ethiopia, many ancient coffee tree species are still preserved, quietly narrating the legendary story of coffee.

With a vast territory, up to two-thirds of its land is occupied by plateaus, and its average altitude is close to 3,000 meters. The topographical features of this high-altitude region have brought unique climatic conditions to Ethiopia. The annual average temperature here remains at approximately 16℃, while the average annual rainfall reaches 1,237 millimeters. The plateau area boasts a suitable temperature difference between day and night, coupled with abundant rainfall, which together constitute an ideal environment for coffee growth.

02 [Three major premium coffee producing regions]
Ethiopia, this magical land hailed as the birthplace of Arabica coffee, has nurtured numerous unique coffee flavors. Among them, Yirgacheffe, Sidamo, and Hacienda, the three major boutique coffee producing areas, converge in the Horn of Africa, becoming standouts on the international coffee stage. Although Ethiopian coffee beans generally possess aromas of citrus, lemon, and floral fruits, each producing area, due to its unique geographical features and planting environment, produces boutique coffee with a distinctive flavor profile.
△ Yirgacheffe coffee
Yirgacheffe coffee, this premium variety grown in the high-altitude valleys of southern Ethiopia, benefits from its average elevation of 1700 to 2100 meters and abundant precipitation, nurturing a unique bright acidity and rich floral aroma in a cool and humid environment. Its origin is originally a small town named "Yirgacheffe" in the Sidamo province of Ethiopia, which means "settling down in wetlands" in the local language.
Due to its unique flavor, Yirgacheffe coffee was successfully registered as a geographical indication trademark by the Ethiopian government in 2008.
△ Ceylon Coffee
Ceylon coffee, a gem originating from southern Ethiopia, thrives in vast regions at altitudes ranging from 1200 to 2100 meters. The significant temperature difference between day and night here provides unique conditions for the accumulation of sugar in coffee beans. Ceylon coffee exhibits a rich layer of floral fragrance.

Hanabero province is located in the Guji region of Ethiopia, which boasts a subtropical climate and an altitude ranging from 1900 to 2200 meters. The fertile red soil provides unique conditions for coffee cultivation. This is the hometown of the famous Huakui coffee.
Hua Kui Coffee, a distinctive Arabica coffee, emits a unique tropical fruit aroma.
